Heritage
The Little Citizens name acknowledges the childcare centre’s
pioneering heritage; it was founded as the Dunedin Citizens’ Day
Nursery in 1930, coming under the Methodist Central Mission’s wing
in 1954. This makes Little Citizens the oldest continuously
run early childhood centre in Dunedin.
Today
Little Citizens has an established track record of great preschool and nursery services and is involved in the leading edge of ELC development.
Throughout the day children are provided with opportunities to participate in both individual and group experiences that promote physical, emotional and social skills, including:
Painting, Music, Dance & Messy Exploration
A wide range of learning experiences and interests are encouraged and all parents are welcome to participate.
Our Philosophy
Providing whanaungatanga to the minds, hearts, bodies, and spirits of the families we work with; creating and celebrating stories of their children’s learning.
