PAYDAY GIVING

The easiest, cheapest way to give! Choose an amount you want to donate each payday and your payroll department/person deducts it, just like PAYE tax or Kiwisaver, except it goes to The Mission rather than the government.

For most people a $20 donation (for example) only costs them $15! Your tax rebate from your donation is applied automatically, so you don’t need to apply for it.

Just ask your employer to set it up, we’re IRD-approved to receive gifts under the name “Dunedin Methodist Mission”.

LEGACIES - MAKING A BEQUEST IN YOUR WILL

A gift in your will is a positive way to invest in the future through The Methodist Mission. A bequest is more than a gift of money. It is an opportunity to make a living testimonial to the things you care about. It may enable you to contribute in ways that were not possible during your lifetime. Your solicitor or trust office can help you with a working to best expresses your intentions.

"The greatest use of life is to spend it for something
that will outlast it" - William James

Your will is the means by which you ensure that your possessions are distributed in keeping with your values after you are gone. For many people a Will is an opportunity to invest in a future for others, or in the continuation of a life's commitment.

A bequest to The Methodist Mission is an investment in the future of the people we work with. It enables The Mission, in partnership with your gift, to provide opportunities for change and social justice within our community, for families, whanau, children, and individuals.

There are different kinds of bequests:

Percentage: a gift that is stated as a percentage of your estate.

Specific: a gift of a fixed sum of money, property, stocks and shares, works of art or other taonga.

Residual: a gift that leaves all or a portion of your estate after debts, taxes, and other bequests and fees.

Deferred: a gift that provides for relatives or friends during their lifetimes, but also benefits The Mission afterwards.

We invite you to join the growing number of people committed to the lasting work of The Mission.

We would love to recognize your generosity and invite you to let us know that you have arranged or are considering a bequest to The Mission.

Please contact Laura Black on (03) 466-4600 so that we may acknowledge your gift.

IN MEMORY OF A FRIEND OR RELATIVE

Memorial funds can be established in recognition of an individual, perhaps someone you cared about, or who made use of Mission services. Please contact us if you would like to discuss how best to do this.

VOLUNTEERS

The Mission hopes to be able to accept offers from volunteers in the near future. More information will be posted to this webpage when we are ready to.
